As the husband of a family nurse practitioner Mike Thompson knows firsthand the crisis that exists in our current healthcare system. Mike has spent 17 years in public office working to make healthcare affordable and accessible for all Americans, especially in rural areas like the 1st Congressional District.

As a senior member of the House Ways & Means' Health Subcommittee, he has led efforts to reform our healthcare system. He's fought to bring health insurance to every American child. He's consistently blocked cuts to Medicare reimbursements for rural doctors.
