Welcome

Welcome to my campaign website. I was born, grew up and still live in our district. I am honored to represent our great communities in Congress, and I look forward to continuing to work with all the people of our district to strengthen our communities and deliver solutions to the challenges facing families.

From Lake County to Sonoma, to Napa, Solano and Contra Costa, I will continue my work as your representative to create jobs, grow our economy, bring fiscally responsible solutions to the federal government, protect our seniors by strengthening Social Security and Medicare, and make sure our veterans and military families receive the benefits they have earned.

As I visit and talk with folks across our district, people often have diverse views. But the one thing everyone agrees on is that they are tired of the partisanship in Washington. I am too. People want us to work together to grow our economy, create jobs and strengthen the middle class. That is what I am committed to doing.

As your representative, I will consistently have one agenda: taking the opportunities and challenges we face in Northern California to Washington, coming up with solutions, and returning home with results. My success as an effective leader on job creation, budget discipline, veteran’s benefits, and the strengthening of Social Security and Medicare is owed to the support I receive from the people I represent.

Please join me in our campaign. I have always believed that the foundation of effective public service is open and active communication. Contact me with your ideas and concerns. Join our campaign as a volunteer or offer your financial support. Sign-up to hear about upcoming events and news. With your support we can make the opportunities and challenges we face in Northern California heard in Washington, come up with solutions, and return home with results that make our district a better place to live, work and raise a family.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about our campaign. Together we will make sure our district is a place where hard work is rewarded, where everybody gets a fair shot, and everyone has the opportunity to succeed.a

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Washington, DC, Nov 21 – U.S. Reps. REPS. MIKE THOMPSON, SCOTT PETERS INTRODUCE BIPARTISAN BILL EXPANDING TELEHEALTH SERVICES TO VETERANS, ACTIVE-DUTY SERVICEMEMBER

Washington, DC, Nov 15 – Today, U.S. Reps. Mike Thompson (CA-5) and Scott Peters (CA-52) introduced H.R. 3507, the 21st Century Care for Military & Veterans Act. This bipartisan legislation would expand coverage of telehealth services to active-duty servicemembers, their dependents, retirees, and veterans. Because of provider shortages at local practices, many servicemembers and veterans lack access to a primary care physician, and in rural and underserved communities patients often must travel extended distances to see a healthcare provider.

Jobs and The Economy

“My number one priority as your member of Congress is growing our economy, creating good jobs and strengthening our middle class. That’s why I’m fighting for job creating investments in infrastructure, energy and education that will put people to work now, and put our economy on solid ground for years to come. If we make these investments, our district and our country will be better off – it will be a place where our middle class is strong and secure, where hard work is rewarded, where everybody gets a fair shot, and everyone has the opportunity to succeed.”
