Thompson Announces Staff Serving Lake County
Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) announced that Luca Moretti has been promoted to serve as a Field Representative covering Lake County.
“I’m excited for Luca’s new role on our team serving the people of Lake County,” said Thompson. “Luca has been with Team Thompson for over two years now and was a favorite mentee of our late Deputy Chief of Staff, Brad Onorato. Luca has spent his time with our team getting to know the Lake Community and I could not imagine anyone better suited to carry on Brad’s legacy.
Thompson Announces Winners of 2024 Congressional App Competition
Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) announced Ziqi Zheng from Maria Carillo High School in Sonoma County as the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge. Ziqi’s app, “SOS-Connect,” helps connect people in disaster areas with community resources.
“STEM education is critical to prepare our nation’s middle- and high-schoolers for the future workforce. That’s why I look forward to hosting the Congressional App Challenge each year. It’s a great opportunity to engage our community’s students in creative, innovative coding projects," said Thompson.
Thompson Announces New Staff Serving Solano County
Woodland – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) announced that Will Duncan has joined his team to serve as a Field Representative covering Solano County, including Dixon, Vacaville, and Rio Vista.
“I’m excited to have Will join our team to serve the people of Solano County,” said Thompson. “Will’s passion for public service, local history, and familiarity with our community will be invaluable to our team and I know he will provide excellent service to our district as Team Thompson’s ‘eyes and ears’ of Solano County.”
Thompson Votes to Eliminate Social Security Pension Benefit Rules Harming Public Servants
Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) announced he voted to pass H.R. 82, the bipartisan Social Security Fairness Act, which repeals the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO) rules impacting the earned benefits of many retired public servants like teachers, police officers, firefighters, emergency services personnel, other first responders, and federal, state, and local employees who worked in both covered and non-covered jobs during their careers.
