Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) voted for bipartisan legislation to ease the burden of rising costs on California farms, small businesses, and families while also boosting American exporters’ ability to efficiently deliver products to the global marketplace. The Ocean Shipping Reform Act will crack down on exorbitant fees being charged by international shipping companies and prevent American-made goods from being left on the dock. Previously passed by the Senate, this legislation now heads to the President’s desk.

Washington – Today, House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force Chair Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) released the following statement after a bipartisan group of senators, led by Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), announced an agreement to combat gun violence.

Washington – Last night, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) voted to pass H.R. 7776, the Water Resources Development Act of 2022, legislation that will authorize crucial investments in America’s ports, inland waterways, flood management systems, ecosystems, and other water resources infrastructure. WRDA 2022 will support our local economy and keep California competitive, while carrying out projects in an environmentally and socially responsible way. Now that WRDA has passed the House, the legislation must pass the Senate to ensure that WRDA 2022 is signed into law.

The City of Cotati passed a resolution requesting that Congressman Thompson introduce this bill to honor Art’s life and legacy.

St. Helena – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05) presented a $1,840,000 check to Adventist Health St. Helena Hospital leaders and Napa County officials for the Napa County Deer Park and St. Helena Hospital water system. This project will improve water infrastructure and increase onsite water storage at Adventist Health St. Helena Hospital, which owns and operates water storage, treatment, and distribution facilities that provide potable water to approximately 660 St. Helena residents and to hospital buildings.
